Godello 50%, Doña Blanca 50%
Due to lees aging and barrel work this blend offers a much creamier style to the Sangarida Godello. Lots of white peach, ripe pear and green apple, the acidity remains fresh but those lovely malolactic notes add a creamy finish.
The Doña Blanca comes from the same plot as their Mencia in San Lorenzo del Bierzo. The goblet trained bush vines were planted in 1901 and 1910 at an altitude of around 500-600m. The Godello comes from two different plots, one at 550m and the other at 650m. The lower plot offers a cooler style of Godello whereas the higher plot adds power.
After hand picking the bunches are de-stemmed, pressed and co-fermented in 228 and 500 litre oak and acacia barrels whic are a blend of first and second fill. The wine is then matured on its lees for twelve months.
A limited bottling of 3950.
