This very limited Mencia comes from 4 very old vineyards planted between 1901 and 1910 in the San Lorenzo del Bierzo. The blocks are actually a co-plantation with Doña Blanca situated at roughly 600m above sea level. The bush vines are farmed organically to help express their true character.
Once hand picked the grapes are destemmed and allowed to spontaneously ferment. Skins are left in contact with the must for 2 weeks with pump overs and punchdowns used to extract more flavour profiles before being transferred to oak for 12 months.
