100% Palomino
This dry Amontillado has an average age above 30 years and comes from a Solera that was started in 1857. The name Del Duque refers to the Duke of Medinaceli who started the Solera with 16 barrels.
Only the best wines will make the cut to become an Amontillado.
On the nose you could be lead to believe that this is a sweet sherry but it is infact bone dry and nutty.
The taste is salted caramel, almonds, walnuts and citrus. There is a hint of maple and pine, also touches of cinnamon. It is such an undervalued wine.
