Château des Antonins, located in Graves, has been owned by the De Roquefeuil family since the 1850's.
Owner and Winemaker Geoffroy de Roquefeuil employs interesting winemaking techniques to set his BDX Superieur apart from the norm. His first process is to macerate the wine for 3-4 weeks to increase the depth of flavour, body and tannins in the wine. This alone could be too much as the tannins would be too powerful and likely destroy the final wine. However, Geoffroy uses a process called micro-oxygenation where tiny oxygen bubbles are pumped through the wine to soften the tannins and create a rounder and smoother wine.
