The vineyards are 500 meters above sea level in granite soils on the right bank of the Dão. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with wild yeasts in French oak barrels - 20% new. The wine matures on the lees in the barrels for 10 months.
Nuno Mira do Ó started making wines in 2001. His philosophy is to use traditional grape varieties with minimal intervention and respect for the natural world. His first personal wine project began in Bairrada in 2009 and he began making his own Dão wines in 2012.
