Little Beauty Black Edition Pinot Gris 2013 Marlborough

Pinot Gris / Pinot Grigio 100%

Grapes are harvested by hand from the Little Beauty Pinot Gris vineyards and the best bunches selected for inclusion in the "Black Edition." In the winery the whole bunches are pressed, to reduce phenolic extraction, then the free run juice allowed to settle before racking into old Burgundy oak barrels. Fermentation is with wild yeasts and the wine rests for 15 months on the lees. During this time, some of the barrels undergo natural malolactic fermentation.

Little Beauty is a small, independent wine producer whose first vintage was released in 2008. They concentrate on small batch varietal wines that reflect the character of the beautiful Waihopai Valley.
