Many País vines in Chile were dug up in favour of international grape varieties which were deemed more commercially viable. The González Bastías estate have nurtured their plots of País bush vines and the grapes for this wine come from low yeilding 200 year old vines.
José Luis Gómez Bastías is the 5th generation of his family to cultivate vineyards on the south bank of the Maule river.
