La Renacida’ – translated as ‘the renaissance’ – is produced exclusively from once-abandoned vines now nearly 100-years-old. The 2.94 ha single vineyard was planted in 1927, but was subsequently neglected. Since 2015, the Finca Museum team has been dedicated to this site's restoration. The soils, composed of gravel and sandy limestone, are poor in organic matter with low water retention. The extremely low-yielding vines produce less
than three tonnes per hectare of intensely concentrated fruit. At 798 metres above sea level, the region’s warm, dry summer days are tempered by cool nights. This extends the growing season and produces complex aromatics while retaining naturally high acidity levels. As is tradition in Cigales, the site is co-planted with red and white grape varieties. The site is dry farmed and managed following sustainable principles.
