Vines are trained on a canopy system to protect the developing grapes from the heat of the sun. Grape yield is restricted to maintain the quality of the fruit.
The crushed grapes have a brief period of temperature controlled maceration before fermentation in concrete tanks. The wine is aged for 4 months, 15% in used oak barrels, before blending and bottling.
The Feudo Antico winery is on a small plot of land in the heart of Abruzzo. Their 15 hectares of vineyard are planted with native varieties of vine. Vineyard management is organic and yields are closely controlled to preserve the quality of the crop. Wines are Magis certified - the leading sustainability standard in Italian wine production.
