Bodegas Perica Crianza "OLAGOSA" is one of the most important wines in their range. It may be one of the cheaper options but this is almost their CV for people tasting their range. Being a crianza it has spent a lot less time in oak than the Reserva and Gran Reserva which means the fruit is alot rounder and more prominent.
Fermented in oak vats then moved to American oak for 16 months then cellared for 6 months. The American oak used is more intense than the French oak used in their top wines. It seasons the wine much faster and offers a little more intensity.
A powerful palate of cherry, blackberry and cocoa with a little clove and star anise. Tasty and meaty, it is a true example of this winery.
