75% Pinot Noir; 25% Tempranillo
Many considered the Ortega brothers to be reckless when they started planting Pinot Noir vines in 1985, 2 kilometers from the Duero river in Valladolid. The vineyard is at an altitude of 1,000m, but experiences some extreme weather conditions. This is an unusual grape combination, but works very well with the flavours of the 2 grapes and oak in perfect harmony.
The wine is bottled at the property after 18 - 24 months aging in French oak.
Bodegas Alta Pavina is located near La Parrilla in Valladolid. The vineyards total 35 hectares, with calciferous loam soil, planted with Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
