Vondeling Monsonia 2016 Voor-Paardeberg

Shiraz 67%, Mourvédre 21%, Carignan 8% & Grenache 4%

A blend reminiscent of a Northern Rhone wine. The Shiraz is selected from 6 clones, only the best make the final cut but each adding their own character to the wine. Aged in 1/3 new French oak, 1/3 2nd fill, 1/3 3rd fill for 16 months before the final selection is made.

Vondeling Monsonia is named in honour of Monsonia Speciosa, a species of fynbos (vegetation type occurring in the Western Cape region of South Africa) that is endemic to the Paardeberg mountain, the home of Vondeling wines.
