55% Riesling, 25% Pinot Gris and 20% Sylvaner
An unoaked, co-fermented blend of mostly Riesling, with some Pinot Gris and Sylvaner. This is an aromatic dry white blend from two high altitude King Valley vineyards. This wine’s job is to show most of the things that Riesling lovers adore about our most noble of varieties, but with a little more lushness, spice and breadth. There’s a little grapefruit pithy texture from the skin contact associated with basket pressing, and plenty of bright floral character.
Heralded as “one of Beechworth’s rising stars,” husband and wife team Tessa and Jeremy Schmölzer Brown purchased a 20ha block of prime cleared land just south of Beechworth, complete with lake and abandoned goldmine back in 2013. They’ve so far planted 10,000 vines at the highest point of their property, with the plan to farm it organically.
