Susamaniello is a traditional variety from the Brindisi area in the "heel" of Italy. Grapes are grown in the Jaddico vineyard, at sea level in sandy soils.
The wine is produced to emphasise the fresh fruit flavours of this variety. Fermentation and aging are in stainless steel.
Winemaker Tommaso Rubino is a champion of the Salento region of Puglia in southern Italy. He acquired 4 vineyards, Jaddico, Punta Aquila, Marmorelle and Uggio in the 1980's. Each has different characteristics to support the growth of traditional local grape varieties.
