Taylors were the pioneers of Late Bottled Vintage (LBV,) ports and continue to produce some of the best of this style of port.
The wine is blended from vintage wines that have been aged for 4 to 6 years in large oak barrels. This extended barrel aging, compared to a Vintage Port, makes the wine ready for drinking on release. The wine has been filtered before bottling, so does not require decanting.
Pairs well with cheeses, especially blue varieties, and chocolate desserts.
Established in 1692, Taylors is one of the oldest founding port houses. Still an independent company, ancestors of the Taylor family still work in the business.
