Grenache is the dominant variety, complemented with Mourvèdre and Syrah
Produced from low yielding vines, with an average age of 40 years the main source of grapes for the Gigondas is the steep, south facing mountainsides of the “Dentelles de Montmirail”. Grapes are harvested and sorted by hand, before destalking and gentle crushing. Fermentation is in enamel lined, concrete tanks with 2 - 3 weeks of exposure to the skins. Maturation is in stainless steel tanks.
This wine is suitable for early drinking, and represents excellent value for a Gigondas AoC wine.
La Bastide St Vincent has been family owned since the 18th century. Their 57 acres of vineyards are distributed over 6 villages and are used for the production of Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Côtes du Rhône Villages wines.
