Grapes are grown in a number of vineyards with calciferous / loam soils around Nußdorf in Pfalz. Fermentation is split between stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness and large old oak barrels to introduce texture into the wine.
Alexander and Martin Bauer are the 5th generation of their family to run this business. After taking over from their father in 2011 they opted to radically overhaul the business, including introducing confrontational labeling for their bottles! Whilst there is humour on the outside, the bottles contain seriously good wine!
