Vermentino 90%; Nero d'Avola 10%
A combination of Italian grape varieties, that traditionally grow hundreds of miles apart! Here, both varieties grow in the Bassham Family Organic Vineyard in Barmera on red sandy loam / limestone soils.
Grapes are picked by hand and the two varieties fermented separately with natural yeasts in stainless steel vats. The wine is blended in the final stages of the fermentation of the Nero d'Avola, which means that the fermentation continues in the bottle creating a Petillant Naturel (Pet Nat,) style.
Sealed with a crown cap. The bottle will contain sediment from the bottle fermentation process.
The Riverland region is hot and dry, which convinced Con-Greg Grigoriou that southern Italian grape varieties would thrive. His objective with Delinquente is to create wines in small batches, with minimal intervention, that reflect the Riverland environment - and are great fun to drink!
The distinctive labels are designed by the Adelaide street artist, Ankles.
