Merlot 65%; Cabernet Franc 25%; Cabernet Sauvignon 10%.
Chateau Raudier's vineyards are in a prime location in St Emilion: on the plateau adjacent to the border with Pomerol. In one area, the next row of vines belong to Chateau La Fleur and the renowned Chateau Petrus vineyard is just 100m away!
The vines are 35 years old, planted in clay/ limestone and clay / silica soils. Fermentation is at low temperatures with regular pumping over.
In the 19th Century Chateau Roudier was divided and owned by two families. It was unified in the 1920's by Ernest Berthon, a mayor of the commune of Montagne. His son-in-law, Roger Capdemourlin took over the property and developed the wine making operation.
Today the business is run by Roger's son, Jacques, and grandson, Thierry. The Chateau has 30 hectares of vines.
