Lagorce, also known as the Great Gorce, is a type of vegetation found in the commune of Haux. The wine estate, Chateau Lagorce, takes its name from this 16th-century vegetation. This estate, located in the southwestern part of France, was originally a castle in the Gironde administrative region. Members of the Faux family planted the first Barsac and Sauternes vines in the Lagorce vineyards in the 17th century.
