Château de Bergun has belonged to the Planiol family since the early 1900s. Located in the commune of Ruch, Entre-Deux-Mers. The family has run their estate and winery as a cooperative since its inception. This has allowed them to pool resources and focus on the core of their business.
Entre-Deux-Mers is well known for its white wines but it seems that Bordeaux Blanc is totally misunderstood. Most people would not know that the main variety used in Bordeaux Blanc is actually Sauvignon Blanc. Having visited Bordeaux on many occasions I can safely say that some of the most memorable wines have actually been white.
This wine may not be a Latour-Martillac or Ygrec, Ch. D’Yquem but it is delicious and shows what quality and value for money there is in Bordeaux when it comes to white wines.
