Merlot; Cabernet Sauvignon
Produced with grapes grown on the very steep, dry stone wall terraced, south west facing vineyards of the San Giorgio hills near Brazzano in Friuli, north east Italy. This is a traditional white wine producing area, but winemaker Nicola Manferrari studied Bordeaux red winemaking techniques, and was credited in 1985 with producing the first great Friuli red wine!
Grapes are harvested by hand before undergoing gentle pressing. Aged 24 - 36 months in 250L oak barrels.
