Produced with grapes that have been manually harvested from Bodegas Perica's oldest vineyads in Rioja Alta. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak vats then the wine is aged for 12 - 14 months in French oak barrels. The wine is stored in the cellars in bottles for a minimum of 10 months before being released for sale.
Bodegas Perica is a family winery, established in 1912. They own over 140 acres of vineyards in the best areas of Rioja Alta. "Perica" was the nickname of David Garcia, the son of the founder of the bodega, who transformed the business from a supplier to the local area to membership of the Consejo Regulador Denominación de Origen Rioja, in 1950.
